Building Delivery!

We took delivery of our pre-fabricated building yesterday. It arrived in Trinidad at the port of Pt Lisas on 24th March 2023. Customs decided they wanted to put it into their Container Examination System on 31st March but it was dealt with quite quickly and released on 3rd April. Unfortunately we had tried to time this delivery so that we would have been able to take it straight to the site but the site is not yet ready and we have not got our outline approval yet either.

Thanks to Vishnu Rampersad of Vishma Brokerage for walking me through this completely new process and making it go smoothly. I’d had a lot of run around from other Brokers who said that I needed to be VAT registered to get entered in the Customs System but Vishnu knew that was not necessary.

So we had to find storage space for it which was a bit tricky as we were guessing the size based on info provided (loosely) by the vendor. What was supposed to be two pallets 3m long by 0.7m wide by 1.5m tall turned out to be one of that size and another that was 5m long! Both were very heavy. We managed to get the items into a tight space with much manoeuvering. Much thanks to Radesh Ali of West Coast Transport.
